Right now, our team is working on a line of new event monitors with support for Cisco Meraki. To prepare, we'd like to hear from FrameFlow users who also use Meraki. Which FrameFlow/Meraki compatibility features would help most with your monitoring goals? Please contact us with any suggestions.
In the meantime, you can use the above link to request access to a beta version of these monitors. We hope to work alongside our users to create the most useful features possible. Thanks in advance for the feedback! You can preview a bit about each new Meraki monitor below:
Our first new Meraki event monitor is the Meraki Discovery Event Monitor, which uses API calls to discover and add Meraki switches and routers to your FrameFlow configuration.
Each of the devices discovered by this event monitor will be automatically added to a device group that you choose, complete with information about device type, last contact time, device status, hardware model, and more.
The other two Meraki monitors that will be released shortly are the Meraki Interface Event Monitor and the Meraki Bandwidth Event Monitor. These work similarly to the existing FrameFlow interface and bandwidth event monitors respectively. The Meraki Interface monitor will alert you if any interface statuses change or if any interfaces marked "favorite" are detected to be down when the event monitor runs. Just like the other interface event monitors, this one also adds an interface tab with additional info to every connected network device.
The Meraki Bandwidth Event Monitor gathers and alerts on bandwidth data that you can then use to populate graphs and dashboards throughout the FrameFlow interface. Keep an eye out for a blog post on our main site that gives more insight on these new event monitors.
Before we release the major update that will contain the new Meraki event monitors (and even more!), we'll be releasing FrameFlow v2025.2. This is a maintenance release that will contain updates and improvements to the FrameFlow interface alongside some minor fixes for Windows Performance Counters, Windows Time monitoring, and remote nodes. Keep an eye out for the update to stay on top of our latest releases!
That's all for this month! Tune in at the start of the next month for the next email update. You can find an archive of our past newsletters on the Server Monitoring Newsletter section of our site. Feel free to contact us with any comments or suggestions. We appreciate feedback from users like you; it's what keeps our product moving forward.
