FrameFlow v2021.2 Released

FrameFlow v2021.2 was released today and is now available in our portal for all licensed users. If you are in the evaluation phase, you can get v2021.2 simply by filling out our download form again.

This new release includes a few improvements related to monitoring VMware guests. In previous releases, our VMware Snapshot event monitor would only check guests that were powered on. Now, it checks snapshots for all VMs regardless of their power state.

Also, the other VMware event monitors for CPU, bandwidth and disk usage used to silently skip powered down VMs. Now they acknowledge their presence with a success record that indicates the power state.

Lastly, we've included fixes for a few reported issues in the original v2021.1 release. These include a Telemetry reconnection issue, a problem affecting multi-site installs with site-limited users, and a number of other relatively minor issues.

As always you can check out our change log for complete details about what's new and improved.

New Tutorial: SSL Certificate Monitoring

We have posted a new tutorial that we hope you'll find helpful and interesting.

All SSL certificates have limited life spans. It used to be possible to get long lifespan certificates that spanned up to 10 years but recent rule changes have reduced that substantially. As of Sept 1st 2020, the maximum validity period for a certificate has been just one year.

That makes it even more important to keep tabs on them and make sure they are renewed and updated before they expire.

FrameFlow's built-in SSL Certificate Event Monitor can automatically check the expiration dates on your website certificates and alert you if they are going to expire soon.

For complete details, see our new tutorial. It goes into complete detail about how to set up and configure this type of monitoring.

Tip: Microsoft Exchange Advisory

We know a lot of you have migrated to Microsoft's cloud-based Office solutions but we also know that many others prefer on-premises Exchange systems.

If you have an on-premises Exchange system, there was a recent alert from Microsoft that you should be aware of. A number of 0-day vulnerabilities are under active exploit and it's important to patch now. Microsoft has provided more details in their Microsoft On the Issues blog.

Current Release: v2021.2

Version 2021.2 is the current release and is recommended for all FrameFlow users. See our change log for complete details about what's new and improved.

That's all for this newsletter. As always, if you have questions or feedback that you would like to share, get in touch because we're always eager to hear your suggestions.
