TCP Port Event Monitor

Checks to see if specified TCP/IP ports are open.

Overview

This event monitor lets you specify one or more TCP/IP ports that will be checked. Options are included to alert if they are open or if they are closed.

Use Cases

  • Ensuring that specified IP-based services are available
  • Ensuring that specific ports are closed
  • Ensuring that specific ports are open

Monitoring Options

This event monitor provides the following options:

Alert with [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if any selected ports are open

Use this option to alert if selected ports are open.

Ports

Enter the ports to be checked. To specify multiple ports, separate them with commas.

Alert with [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if any selected ports are closed

Use this option to alert if selected ports are closed.

Ports

Enter the ports to be checked. To specify multiple ports, separate them with commas.

Time Out

Specify a timeout in milliseconds to tell how long it should wait for a response on each port.

Retries

Select the number of retries that the event monitor will perform when testing a port's status.

Authentication and Security

This event monitor does not require authentication or specific security rights.
