Overview

This event monitor checks the HTTPS/SSL certificates of your websites. If a certificate is invalid or has expired, browsers will show security warnings to all visitors who access your sites. Use this event monitor to get alerts about certificate expiry well before it happens.

Monitoring Options

This event monitor provides the following options:

Alert with [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if a certificate [is found|is not found]

Use this option to notify you based on whether or not a certificate has been found on the site.

Alert with [Info/Warning/Error/Critical] if the certificate has expired

This option will alert you if a certificate is found and it has expired.

Alert if the certificate will expire in less than a specified number of days

Use this option to send alerts when the certificate is due to expire soon. You can set thresholds for warning, error, and critical alerts as the expiry date approaches.

Alert if the certificate will expire in more than a specified number of days

This option is used more rarely, but it can be handy for detecting invalid certificates where the number of days before expiry is larger than a reasonable number.

Connect Time Out

Tells the event monitor how long to wait while trying to establish a connection to the web server.

Receive Time Out

Tells the event monitor how long to wait for a complete response after it has connected to the web server.

Authentication and Security

This event monitor does not require authentication.

Check Time	The time the certificates were checked.
Days Before Expiry	The number of days left before your certificate expires.
