Sends test emails and uses POP3 to verify it has arrived at its destination.
This event monitor uses SMTP to send a test email message from one mail server and then uses POP3 to verify that it has arrived at another specified mailbox. There are cases when all of your mail systems are up and running, but the mail is still not getting through. This event monitor ensures that there is end-to-end mail connectivity.
This event monitor provides the following options:
Enter the email address that will receive the test messages.
Enter the name that will be shown in the "From" field. For example, you might use "FrameFlow Mail Test".
This option controls how long the event monitor will wait for the test message to arrive in the destination mailbox.
FrameFlow will generate a random message body for the test email. This option controls the size of the random message.
Enter the host name or IP address of the SMTP server that will be used to send the test messages.
The default SMTP port number is 25, but you can specify a different one if your server is running on a non-standard port.
Enable this option if your SMTP server requires SSL encryption for incoming requests.
Enter the host name or IP address of the POP3 server where the event monitor will look for the test messages to arrive.
The default POP3 port number is 110, but you can specify a different one if your server is running on a non-standard port.
Select authentication profiles that match the mailboxes being used for SMTP and POP3 monitoring.
