Overview
The Exchange Performance Event Monitor watches a set of commonly-used Exchange performance counters and alerts you if the thresholds you specify have been exceeded.

This event monitor provides the following options:
Alert based on "MSExchangeTransport Queues: Internal Aggregate Delivery Queue Length (All Internal Queues)"
Total size of all queues used for internal message delivery.
Alert based on "MSExchangeTransport Queues: External Aggregate Delivery Queue Length (All External Queues)"
Total size of all queues used for external message delivery.
Alert based on "MSExchangeTransport Queues: Active Mailbox Delivery Queue Length"
Active Mailbox Delivery Queue Length is the number of messages in the active mailbox queues.
Alert based on "MSExchangeTransport Queues: Retry Mailbox Delivery Queue Length"
Retry Mailbox Delivery Queue Length is the number of messages waiting for retries.
Alert based on "MSExchangeTransport Queues: Submission Queue Length"
Submission Queue Length is the number of messages in the Submission queue.
Alert based on "MSExchangeTransport Queues: Unreachable Queue Length"
Unreachable Queue Length is the number of messages in the Unreachable queue.
Alert based on "MSExchangeTransport Queues: Messages Submitted Per Second"
Messages Submitted Per Second is the number of messages that have been queued in the Submission queue per second.

Messages Completed Delivery Per Second is the number of messages that are delivered per second.
Alert based on "MSExchangeTransport Queues: Messages Queued for Delivery Per Second"
Messages Queued for Delivery Per Second is the number of messages that have been queued for delivery per second.
Alert based on "MSExchangeTransport SmtpSend: Connections Current"
Number of SMTP connections currently being used to send messages.
Alert based on "MSExchangeTransport SmtpSend: Messages Sent/sec"
Number of SMTP messages being sent per second.
Alert based on "MSExchangeTransport SmtpSend: Message Bytes Sent/sec"
Number of bytes per second of messages being sent by SMTP.
Alert based on "MSExchangePop3: Connections Current"
Number of POP3 connections currently active.
Alert based on "MSExchangeImap4: Current Connections"
Number of IMAP4 connections currently active.
Alert based on "MSExchange OWA: Current Users"
Number of users currently using Outlook Web Access.
Alert based on "MSExchange Database: Database Page Fault Stalls/sec"
Rate of database page fault stalls. Expected to be less than 10.
Alert based on "MSExchange Database: Version Buckets Allocated"
Number of version buckets allocated. Expected to be less than 200.
Authentication and Security
The account used for authentication must be a member of the Performance Monitor Users group or have admin rights.
